Greasing the wheels of industry
The Machine Tool Grease website has been created to support your growing need for grease lubrication on your Machine Tools.
Holding a wide range of greases in stock for immediate dispatch, we aim to take the hassle out of buying grease for your machines. No longer will you have to order your grease from several difference machine tool manufacturers, which will reduce the amount of time spent placing orders, be more cost effective and reduce carriage costs.
If we do not have the grease you need in stock, let us know what you need and what machine they are used on, and we will put it in stock for you.
There has been a big shift in recent years within the Machine Tool Industry, with the majority of manufacturers replacing Oil Lubrication systems, which was the industry standard for 40+ years, with the latest grease lubrication systems, which is becoming and will be the industry standard for many years to come.
Some of reasons that the Machine Tool Industry are changing over to the grease lubrication systems are:
They are self contained, so the grease cartridges protect against external contaminants
The grease creates and maintains an oil film, reducing wear in critical areas, gives stable machine performance and improved longevity
Workload reduction due to its lower lubricant consumption
As the grease is a non hazardous material it does not require special management and storage
It reduces the need to run skimmers in the coolant tank, which results in longer coolant life, increasing tool life and the treatment and disposal of tramp oil in the coolant is significantly reduced
Helps prevent coolant degradation and associated odours, making grease a more pleasant product to use in the working environment
The grease is contained in simple, easy to use cartridges, eliminating problems with lubricant spillage on floors, resulting in reduced costs for cleaning products, labour and disposal costs
Overall the move to grease lubrication is an easier, more environmental, efficient and cost effective solution which significantly helps the life of the machine and reduces the maintenance work load. What is not to like?
